SENIOR PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR SPRING SEMESTER (REVISED)

MECHANICAL
Hotel X is a 17-story building with large, pleated glass curtain wall covering the entire front facade of the building.  Because of this, a lot of additional heat from sunlight can affect the temperature of the space.  For my mechanical breadth, I am analyzing the how I can shrink the mechanical load in the space by reducing the Lighting Load and the solar heat gain through the windows by changing the fixtures and glass type in the space.
ACOUSTICS
Since Hotel X is both a restaurant and hotel space, privacy and comfort are extremely important aspects to maintain happy guests.  Because of this I would like to analyze how an open lower level floor plan with a range of materials affects the acoustical qualities of the restaurant space.   My analysis will focus on whether or not the current acoustical properties of the space allow for occupant comfort.
